DC7 — Rethinking development in developing countries: evolution of productive structure, dependence and trade in the context of the ecological transition
Project title | Rethinking development in developing countries: evolution of productive structure, dependence and trade in the context of the ecological transition (DC7) |
Supervisors | Valeria Costantini (ROMA3), Antonella Palumbo (ROMA3), Manuel Scholz-Wäckerle (WU) |
Work package | WP4 — Macroeconomics, finance and the natural world for just socioeconomic transitions |
Objectives | The objective is to model the possible scenarios for developing countries with respect to the ecological transition objectives and the principle of “common but differentiated responsibilities”. A focus will be put on the direct impact of public governance on the just and sustainable transition pathways, as well as on the role played by the international network of multilateral relationships. In particular, it aims to identify the opportunities for a global bifurcation which does not jeopardise the development of developing countries, while significantly reducing the global ecological footprint. |
Expected results | DC7 will provide (i) a model, compliant with developing economies allowing to build and assess different scenarios. She/he will derive (ii) concrete scenarios and (iii) policy recommendations. |
